I spent a semester documenting my favorite tree in Providence, RI. For two months, I left a note box, index cards, and a pen hanging from a branch of the tree. I asked visitors to the park to write memories they had at the park, connections to this tree, or thoughts about tree carving. In 2 months, I received 172 notes. I would check the box every morning. It was wonderful to see that a place I went to for solitude meant a lot to so many strangers and that they took the time to write. These are a few cyanotypes I made into a book.
